Takhreej of Narrations present in Shia Encyclopedia [Part – 1]

Bismillah

All praises due to Allah, and May His peace and blessings be upon His Last and Final Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and companions.

Shia Encyclopedia has great fame among shia so called internet debaters. They rely on this online encyclopedia assuming it to be a great research. But the fact is this work is full of weak and fabricated narrations. This Takhreej is a small effort to analyze the authenticity of narrations present outside the two Sahih.

This Part-1 include analysis of following narrations:

[1]. “I am leaving behind two commands: the Book of Allah and my Sunnah“.

[2]. “I am leaving for you two precious and weighty Symbols that if you adhere to both of them you shall not go astray after me. They are, the Book of Allah, and my progeny, that is my Ahlul-Bayt.”

[3]. “Ali is with Quran, and Quran is with Ali.”

[4]. “Behold! My Ahlul-Bayt are like the Ark of Noah. Whoever embarked in it was saved, and whoever turned away from it was perished.

[5]. “Do not be ahead of them (Ahlul Bayt) for you will perish, do not turn away from them for you will perish, and do not try to teach them since they know more than you do!

[6]. “My Ahlul-Bayt are like the Gate of Repentance (Baab Hittah) of the Children of Israel; whoever entered therein was forgiven.”

[7]. “O folk! I am soon going to depart from here, and although I have already told you, I repeat once more that I am leaving with you two things, namely, the Book of Allah and my descendants, that is, my Ahlul-Bayt.” Then he lifted Ali by the hand and said: “Behold! This Ali is with the Quran and the Quran is with him. These two shall never separate from each other until they come to me at the Pool of Kawthar.”

[8]. “Whosoever wishes to live and die like me and enter that heaven (after death), which my lord has promised me, namely, the everlasting heaven should acknowledge Ali (AS) as his patron after me, and after him he should acknowledge the sons of Ali.”

[9]. “Regard the Ahlul-Bayt among you as the head to the body or the eyes to the face, for the face is only guided by the eyes.”

[10]. “My Ahlul-Bayt are the protected place of refuge about the dispute in religion.”

[1] Refuting the bigot adamant who forbids from criticism of Yazeed

Introduction

This book was written by Imam Ibn Al-Jawzi to prove that it was ok to curse Yazeed bin Mu’awiyah. The book was actually a refutation of Abdul Mugheeth Al-Hanbali who wrote in defence and praise of Yazeed. Regarding his book “Fadha’il Yazeed” (Virtues of Yazeed), Ibn Katheer said, “He came up with weird things in this book, and this was refuted by Ibn Al-Jawzi and he was correct in his refutation”. Similarly Dhahabi and Ibn Al-Atheer also criticized book of Abdul Mugheeth Al-Hanbali.

Regarding Yazeed bin Mu’awiyah scholars are divided into several group:

1. Those who consider him Kaffir. This view is attributed to Mahmud Shukri Al-Aalusi and Ibn Aqeel Al-Hanbali.

2. Those who do not declare him Kafir. These are further divided into two groups:

(A) Those who allow cursing of Yazid. This is attributed to Imam Ahmed, Qadhi Abu Ya’la, Ibn Abi Ya’la, Khallal, Ibn Al-Jawzi, Safareeni, Taftazani, Suyuti etc

(B) Those who do not allow cursing. This group include Al-Ghazali, Ibn Sallah, Ibn Taymiyya, Al-Haytami etc.

[2] Ibn Taymiyyah was not a Nasibi

ابن تيمية لم يكن ناصبيا

This book was written to answer the accusation that Ibn Taymiyya had Nasb (hatred for Ahlul Bayt) in him. First the author introduced the bok Minhaj As-Sunnah by Shaykh Ul-Islam. Then he goes on mentioning comments of all those scholars who attributed Nasb to Ibn Taymiyya. The author divided them in two groups:

1. Those who accused him of Nasb based on their misunderstanding of Shaykh’s statement. This includes Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani.

2. Those who had some hatred towards Shaykh Ul-Islam. This includes Ibn Hajar Al-Haytami, Al-Kawthari, Al-Ghumari, As-Saqqaf, Al-Habashi etc.

After discussing comments of all these scholars, the author went on discussing the style of Shaykh Ul-Islam while refuting his opponents. Then the author discussed and explains all those comments which some people took as insult toward Ahlul Bayt.

This book was introduced by Shaykh Saleh Al-Fawzan.

Refutation of Zaini Dahlan

Attack of Dahlan toward Ahlussunnah is known. One of the most famous refutation of Zaini Dahlan is “Siyanatal Insan an waswasah Ash-Shaykh Dahlaan” written by Shaykh Basheer Sahsawani. This book is quite famous on the net. However following are some other early refutation.
